INEXPERIENCED GOLFERS SOULDN’T PLAY WITHOUT SUFFICIENT INSTRUCTION

A Florida man at a country club has been killed by a golfer’s tee shot

Police say Maurice Hayden was pulling weeds near a tree at the Mayfair Country Club in Sanford on Wednesday when
he was struck in the temple about 30 yards away.

The 42-year-old man was taken to Central Florida Regional Hospital. Police say he died Thursday after being removed from life support.

Police say the shot was an accident and that the golfer will not face charges.

I cannot tell you how many Charity Golf Tournaments I have volunteered at and played for where I see guys and girls swinging away who obviously never had a lesson. This is Very Dangerous because they can buy Mulligans (to take extra shots at killing you) and eventhough it is a Scramble, balls go flying in all different directions. Legally, you are not protected from injury and you are playing at your own risk. Last year, I was almost killed by an idiot amateur who took a shot which went flying in the direction of my head. Obviously it had 0% alignment with the target at bay. I avoided him like the plague and reported him to the Committee.

“This is Very Dangerous because they can buy Mulligans (to take extra shots at killing you)” LoL! Too funny.

“…and even though it is a Scramble…” In this case, it is called a “scramble” because that’s what the people have to do when these bozos hit the ball.

I’ve had a golf ball land on my tee box before while I was in my back swing. Another time, a golf-ball smashed into my golf cart while I was putting a club away, missing me by mere inches, and then I heard “fore!” in the distance. I took the ball and threw it in the woods, and came real close to teeing up and launching one back at them. This was at a nice course, too. Morons like this really tick me off; such ignorance and disregard as to what could potentially happen to others. People….I swear.

I’m glad they just “crack you up” and don’t “crack your head open” as I have heard too many scary stories about this.
