Is exotic beauty Padma Lakshimi latest photoshop victim?
Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi is the latest exotic beauty to get an unwelcome makeover for a magazine cover shoot. This time TV category_ide has overdone it with photoshop, giving her a decidedly lighter skintone.
Lakshmi, 40, is pictured on the cover with co-host Tom Colicchio, promoting their reality TV competition, “Top Chef All Stars,” But her her dark tawny skin looks the same as Colicchio’s, who is white.
Sadly the practice seems widespread.
For its part, TV category_ide heatedly denied whitening Padma’s skin:
“If her skin appears lighter, it’s because we shot her in a brightly lit diner as part of the cover concept,” it said in a statement.

Typical of the white Madison Avenue type response to whiten other people of color. The won’t admit it. The do it to Beyonce and others too. Although I heard skin lightner creams are popular in India and Asia, it maybe true she put some make up and the bright lights maker her lighter.
