Song Joong Ki charms Singapore
Bugis Junction was filled with screams on Monday as fans gathered for a meet-and-greet session with Korean actor Song Joong Ki.
The 25-year-old, who is the ambassador for Korean beauty brand Tony Moly, was in town for the launch of its flagship store as well as an autograph session with 100 lucky fans.
Fans who could not wait till the meet-and-greet session to see their idol staked out at Changi Airport’s Terminal 3 on Saturday, and went wild when the heart-throb walked through the arrival gates.
“I was so shocked, there were so many fans… If I had known, I would have covered up my pimple!” he joked.
Unlike most Korean idols who found fame after breaking out as singers in K-pop bands, Song had a tougher time finding his place in the industry.
Making his debut in 2008, he survived on bit and supporting roles before landing his big break playing Gu Yong Ha, a frivolous scholar, in 2010 drama series “SungKyunKwan Scandal”.
If the sudden and rapid rise to popularity shocked him, he does not show it.
