Carina Lau reveals secret to keeping the romance alive

E-mail, Twitter and Facebook may reign supreme in this electronic age, but Hong Kong actress Carina Lau reveals that she still prefers to pen love letters to share her thoughts with husband Tony Leung.

According to Lau, the couple, who are often very busy with their own projects and have little time together, keep the romance alive in their relationship by exchanging love letters.

“Writing letters is actually very romantic. The words and the messages between the lines easily move the other party,” said Lau during a publicity event for her latest film “All’s Well, Ends Well 2011” in Hong Kong.

“Perhaps this is the difference between the younger generation and older generation. Receiving an SMS lacks emotion and feels a little cold.”

In honor of Valentine’s Day, I am going to send out a few love letters for 2011! They are going out to the “Angels” in my life to express all of my gratitude for their support and friendship over the years. They will be sealed with my Ruby Foo Red lipstick, of course!

I send out pink cherry blossom scented stationery now!

I completely agree with Carina 100%! I am a huge proponent of writing love letters. Anyone out there who was fortunate enough to have ever received a love letter from me should have been smart enough to hang on to it as it will be worth alot of money one day! Don’t hold your breath though. I am of the belief of nothing ventured nothing gained!

I write lovely letters with my signature fragrance attached on very chic stationery. Some lucky devils even received letters stamped with my trademark lip print (including my fiance, of course!) (WINK) Better get it out of the way before the big day!

But I wrote a song for my fiance as well called “My Angel” which I have NEVER done for anyone.

FYI Ladies, if your husband has a letter filed under S like B for Belen with a lip print on it, that letter is NOT from a business associate/friend. Just trying to give you a heads up.

I have NO regrets about having written any letters! You live and you learn. We all have history with people that meant alot to us at the time. Each person who received a letter from me deserved it at the time and meant alot to me at the relative time. I can’t help that I am fickle but I am also very honest when it comes to relationships and I mean what I say!

Luckily, I am hardly famous and do not have to worry about anyone cashing in on my private letters! No one would care except the recipients themselves. Good for a guaranteed positive experience when feeling down. 🙂

I still have a box full from old serious boyfriends and it makes me happy when I read them! In the same spirit that my letters bring joy to me, I sincerely hope that the letters that I have sent over the years have brought alot of joy to the recipients!
