Former MediaCorp actor Jeff Wang secretly wed in 2008

Former MediaCorp actor Jeff Wang has pulled an ‘Andy Lau’. The Taiwanese actor revealed that he had wed his long-time girlfriend, Chen Hui Wen, 30, in 2008 and the couple are now proud parents a two-year-old boy, reported Lianhe Wanbao on Tuesday. The pair dated for eight years before tying the knot.

Wang, 35, said he hadn’t planned on keeping the marriage a secret, it was just that “the timing was not right”. “There were a lot of issues to take care of – my contract [with MediaCorp] was up for renewal and I wasn’t sure whether to sign on, on top of that, I was going to release my debut album, so it just got delayed,” said Wang, who joined MediaCorp after winning talent contest “All-Asian Star Search” in 1999.

In 2010, the actor announced that he was leaving MediaCorp to “explore a career in Taiwan”. When Wang made the decision to return to Taiwan and sign with local broadcaster FTV, he knew the road would be a difficult one – he had to start from scratch and work his way up like a newcomer. “If I didn’t work, there was no income. There were times when I felt lost. Though I grew up in Taiwan, the entertainment circle was still very new to me,” he lamented.

It really doesn’t surprise me that a man who was dating a woman for 8 years had a “secret wedding”. I really hope it works out and we don’t discover that they had a “secret divorce”.

He hadn’t planned on keeping the marriage a secret, it was just that “the timing was not right”. There were a lot of issues to take care of?

Men pull the trigger early on in the relationship when they are smitten. Something is rotten in Denmark. Do you know what I mean?
