Nothing but body paint for Joanne Peh on Star Awards night?
Singapore actress Joanne Peh may have won the coveted Best Actress Award at the 2009 Star Awards, but it doesn’t diminish the thrill she felt when she found out that she was nominated for Best Actress again this year.
But it was her dual nomination – Peh is in the running for the Best Info-ed Programme Host award as well – that really made her jump for joy. “Surprised and shock wasn’t the emotion that was going through my head when I first found out. It was joy really.
“I mean honestly, I wasn’t really thinking about it and didn’t realise that the awards was coming already, so it was like ‘Oh Wow! that’s great!'” gushed Peh during the media lunch for her latest drama serial “A Tale of 2 Cities”, in which she plays a materialistic man-eater.
“I am really happy and thrilled I am nominated for the two awards. That bit is just something that got me really excited. I started texting people ‘Hey! I got nominated.’

That dress reminds me of the Versace Dress that made Elizabeth Hurley famous. Remember the black one that was held together on both sides with gold safety pins? She “accompanied” Hugh Grant to some awards ceremony that year.
