Gaga Goes Bollywood
Lady Gaga has tapped into her Indian fan base, teaming up with Bollywood music composers Salim-Sulaiman to create a remix of “Born This Way.” In addition to Salim’s voice, a sitar, dholak and dhol, all instruments that hail from parts of India and the Middle East, were added to the original song.
The 25-year-old singer had previously released a “Country Road” version as well as a remix for the Thierry Mugler Paris fashion show. She took to Twitter yesterday saying, “I worked with some Indian Producers on “BORN THIS WAY” to show all the little monsters in India that I appreciate you!” Listen to the Bollywood version below.
This release is only the beginning of Gaga’s global reach in the desi market. CEO of Desi Hits Anjula Acharia-Bath is working closely with Gaga during this process and stated that “Gaga has truly fallen in love with India, so we’re helping her pursue this audience to authentically connect with both the huge Diaspora and South Asia itself.” This track delivers a great Bollywood sound, subtlety infused with a sitar intro and dhol beats, paired with Gaga’s original audio track– unlike most remixes that let you know it’s a remix 100 times during the entire duration of play.
In true Gaga fashion, she will also release a more urban-desi version of the #1 selling track, targeting the UK South Asian market and fusing a more bhangra-oriented Euro funk feel to it. This sound was carefully crafted and produced by Culture Shock and features both Lomaticc and Sunny Brown’s vocals. Last year Culture Shock produced urban-desi remixes for Rihanna, Sean Paul, Jay Sean and Alesha Dixon.
Very well summarized article. I also think that are the basics to get good search engines result with Drupal. Content rulez
