Interesting: Fewer Chickens Killed as Demand for Meat Drops
According to a recent report by the United States Department of Agriculture, the number of chickens raised and killed for food will drop significantly in the second half of 2011, due to decreased demand for meat. This latest report comes on the heels of a Daily Livestock Report, indicating that 2010 per capita consumption of all meat dropped by an estimated one pound per person in the United States, marking the fourth year in a row that meat consumption has declined in the United States and the fifth decline within a six-year period.

While it is difficult to say what is causing this steady drop in meat consumption, some studies indicate that it may be at least partially due to increased awareness of animal welfare issues among the general public. Whatever the cause, it is certainly good news for the billions of chickens and other farmed animals who are intensively confined, mutilated without painkillers and cruelly slaughtered every year in the United States.

I have to agree with Maggie. Since I gave up meat, I can run faster and longer, do yoga poses better and dropped lbs. You will see after about 6 months, you will not crave meat anymore, actually you will be disgusted, even if you grew up a meat eater.

I “gave up” meat long ago, so the effects are a bit difficult to remember, and I’m sure I’ll never have Jaymie’s immense energy, but I do think, for health and for ethics, being as animal-product free as possible is the only way to go!

After watching the award winning documentary “Food, Inc.”, an unflattering look inside America’s corporate controlled food industry, you will never be able to look at meat the same way again!

That is sure to help you on your voyage to veganism!

Don’t you think that it is very odd that young girls are suffering with infertility at such high rates and need to turn to artificial measures? More young men than ever before are shooting blanks, and when these couples do turn to artificial measures to have children there are major side effects. More children than ever before are severely autistic, learning disabled, and brain damaged. Another result of what we’ve been putting into our bodies.

The great news is that you can detox, cleanse your system and start on a new and healthy journey.

yes I think once you see what factory farming is and realize the dangerous steroids and chemicals they inject into these animals prior to slaughter, you will never touch meat again. It’s not only cruel but completely dangerous. No wonder there is so much cancer in our society.
