Tiger Woods has sent out some of the strongest signals yet that he is ready to end a six-year drought without picking up a Masters Green Jacket.

The American former world No 1 has steadily built on the resurgent form he showed in January.

And as he went into Saturday night’s third round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill in a share of the lead with Korean Charlie Wi, he left no one in doubt that he felt he was back where be belonged.

After shooting a seven-under-par 65 to move to the top of the leaderboard, he pronounced: ‘I am comfortable up there and I feel like I am playing well again. My bad days now are not as bad as they used to be. I am a lot tighter.

‘I had lost a little bit of my length but now I am able to get the ball out over 300 yards again and consequently I am able to play par-fives better.’
