Bobby Jindal endorses Rick Perry for president
Louisiana’s Indian American Governor Bobby Jindal has come out in support of Texas Governor Rick Perry for his Republican party’s nomination to challenge President Barack Obama in the 2012 election.
Announcing the endorsement, Jindal praised Perry for his record on job creation, which he presented as a ‘stark contrast’ from President Obama’s record in the area.
‘Rick Perry is the candidate who can lead our party to victory in 2012,’ Jindal said in the statement. ‘His record on job creation simply cannot be beat, and the one million jobs he’s helped create as governor is a stark contrast to the 2.4 million jobs lost on President Obama’s watch.’
‘President Obama promised hope, but he simply hasn’t delivered. Rick Perry will bring our country more than hope – he’ll get America working again,’ he said.
Expressing his appreciation for Jindal’s endorsement, Perry said: ‘I truly appreciate Governor Jindal’s endorsement because he is a leader who knows what it takes to rebuild an economy and restore people’s confidence.’
‘His efforts to cut taxes and reduce unreasonable regulations are helping the Louisiana economy grow, and that is exactly what I aim to do for America. I look forward to continuing to work with him throughout this campaign, and with his help, we’ll get America working again.’
Word of Jindal’s endorsement came just hours after former Republican candidate Tim Pawlenty announced his support for former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, the candidate widely perceived as Perry’s main rival for the party nomination.
Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal told reporters last night that he will not accept a spot on Rick Perry’s ticket if the Texas Governor secures the GOP nomination.
“No, I will not be his VP,” Jindal flatly said following Monday’s debate in Tampa, Florida. “I want to be Governor of the great state of Louisiana.”

Governor Bobby Jindal’s support of Texas Governor Rick Perry for his Republican party’s nomination to challenge President Barack Obama in the 2012 election is MAJOR! Did anyone see the Republican Candidate debate last night? Rick Perry is extremely handsome (a big plus with women voters like me.) He has a big ego and a great presence and he is improving on his debate skills every day. He looks like a REAL man, tough and strong in his convictions. We need that. Most importantly, he has the support of the Hispanic voters, and it looks like the southeast asian voters now. For any Republican Candidate to win, he must have the support of the women, hispanic and asian voters. I don’t think that Rick Perry is the brightest light in the sky but since when is that a requirement to be President of the United States? Also, he actually does have a pretty wife with a very attractive figure who dresses quite well. If I have to look at a guy giving speeches all of the time, I want to look at a handsome actor for once and I want to follow a first lady who actually knows something about fashion and looks good in it!
Most importantly he gets the job(s) done! Texas is the job creating state! The best income tax structure (you keep the money) and punitive cap on damages for litigation to deter lawyers from ambulance chasing and other such blood sucking activities. Texas, a state after my own heart!
I think that the Tea Party/people should propose that the candidates put their money where their mouth is! If they are sooo serious about creating jobs in this country, why don’t they prove it by investing in America before the election?? All of these men/woman have accumulated enough wealth to invest in start-ups. The candidate who does the most to jump-start the economy prior to the election wins. Think any of them are up for the challenge? Lets see? Any opinions on this proposal??
Remember, it was the late great President John F. Kennedy who said “And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you — ask what you can do for your country.” Just for the record, I’ll be waiting for the check in the mail. 😉
