Opening Ceremony co-founders Carol Lim and Humberto Leon will launch OC Annual, a new magazine, Women’s Wear Daily reports.
The glossy, described as a collectible fashion and culture magazine, will debut this August in a print run of 30,000.
Opening Ceremony has stores in New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo and a pop-up shop coming to London. This duo is also the creative directors behind French fashion house Kenzo (also Kimora Lee’s son’s moniker).
“As magazine fanatics, O.C. founder Humberto Leon and myself are aiming to create a collectible publication for a new generation, something beautiful and special in the vein of Benetton’s ‘Colors,’ Comme des Garçons’ ‘Six’ and Joe McKenna’s ‘Joe,’” Lim wrote in a memo. “We want to make a magazine that will appeal to kids in Nebraska as much as industry people.”
The duo has tapped the likes of photographers Bruce Weber, Walter Pfeiffer, Todd Cole and more to contribute to the first issue, which will be sports-themed in honor of the summer Olympics in London.
