Ken Langone always has something intelligent to say! Love it!

On Occupy Wall Street:

“The kids downtown, I’d view them as babies in adults’ bodies,” Langone said in a live interview. “I don’t think they know what they want to be when they grow up.”

He used the protest, which is nearly two months old and has generated similar movements across the country and around the world, to bemoan the state of education. He also criticized the group for adversely affecting local businesses by chasing customers away.

“The generation of children in public schools in America today is the first generation that’s going to have a lower literacy rate than the previous generation,” Langone said. “There are jobs all over, but you need to be able to count.”

He’s right! This is the scariest of all!!! Some of the teachers are horrendous!…even in private schools!

This country needs more people like Ken Langone. He tells it like it is and doesn’t worry about being “accepted” or “approved”. Too many people try to say what they think is popular and accepted.

I hope Ken and his friend Bernie Marcus keep calling it the way it is.

This is an excellent post! I wish Ken Langone would run for President. I feel like I am listening to my late father. He is 100% right. The teachers were very tough and had rulers to hit you with if you disobeyed them when I went to school. The teachers were respected and were always right. They were also feared. Now it is the children who are feared by the teachers and they have daily weapon checks to protect themselves.

The children of baby boomers are very spoiled in general. They do not respect their elders and expect to be treated as the equal of accomplished executives three times their age. They feel entitled and want to be included in everything from day one. I was told not to “open the can” when I got out of College for at least a few years until I learned from my superiors and had something to bring to the table. I believe that lesson would serve these young adults very well. A year or two out of College (not Harvard mind you) and they’re actually telling the founders of a company how to handle a situation. When I was that age, a CEO level businessman wouldn’t even entertain your thoughts let alone allow you to enter into a meeting! That was a priviledge that was earned over time with due diligence and proper experience.
