Hello, I’m Cat.

My name is Catherine, but my friends call me Cat. By day I’m a college student and jewelry designer. By night, I’m a beauty and style-phile. A year ago, I started a little blog called Style By Cat. Recently, I’ve been very fortunate and honored to be invited by Asiance to be a part of their blogger team. I guess that’s why I’m here today. I’m very pleased to meet anyone who’s taken the time to read this post. 🙂

Anywho, I am, by no means a professional makeup artist. I’ve just been playing with makeup since I was 5 and have subsequently became adept enough with it to walk around in public with a passably painted face.

My personal philosophy regarding makeup is that it exists to accentuate your natural beauty, whether you want to go for a barely-there, effortless look or if you want to take it to the nines with a fun, dramatic look. Because I’m no pro, I learned a lot through trial and error. I’m here to hopefully help you skip the “error” part. I’m also a starving student, therefore I shop a lot of bargains and inexpensive brands. I’ve found that $$$$ doesn’t make the face, it’s doing the best with what you’ve got that matters in the end. Oh, one last thing: I’m very, very lazy. I’ve seen amazing artists using a gazillion brushes and products to create phenomenal looks. Me, I prefer to take all the shortcuts. I am the queen of half-assing and cutting corners and have become rather talented at finding the “easy way” of achieving the looks that I covet which I’ll share with you all along the way.

I guess that’s me in a nutshell. I look forward to creating posts that most of you will hopefully find useful. 🙂
