Jeremy Lin came up short when it mattered most.
The Rockets new point guard shot an air ball from the three point line which would have given Houston the lead over the Heat with 10 seconds left in the game. Trailing 111-110, Jeremy Lin took a pass from Chandler Parsons and shot from beyond the arc.
“It didn’t come off right,” Lin told the Houston Chronicle. “It didn’t feel good. Obviously, it’s my responsibility to hit that shot. It was a good shot for me, a quality shot, and it didn’t go in for me unfortunately in a crucial play of the game.”
Lin took some heat after saying he was going to re-sign with the Knicks, but then signed with the Rockets for three years, $25 million, an offer which the Knicks did not match. He is averaging 11.9 points, 6.4 assists and 4.6 rebounds per game through the Rockets’ (3-4) first seven games.
