Let the Bullets Fly
Last Tuesday, the movie screening of ‘Let the Bullets Fly’ was held.
Let the Bullets Fly is a 2010 action comedy film written and directed by Jiang Wen, based on a story by Ma Shitu, a famous Sichuanese writer. Set in China during the warring 1920s, notorious bandit chief Zhang descends upon a remote provincial town posing as its new mayor, an identity that he had hijacked from Old Tang, himself a small-time imposter. Hell-bent on making a fast buck, Zhang soon meets his match in the tyrannical local gentry Huang as a deadly battle of wit and brutality ensues. The film also stars Chow Yun-fat, Carina Lau, Ge You, Chen Kun and Zhou Yun.
“Let the Bullets Fly” was originally set to be released in September 2010 but was pushed back to December. Made in Mandarin and Sichuanese, the film broke several box office records in Mainland China and Hong Kong, and has received critical acclaim. “Let the Bullets Fly” grossed 730 million yuan (US$111.1 million) at the box office, becoming the highest grossing domestic film in China’s cinematic history.
It was such good action and comedy. It is more than 2 hours long, yet I enjoyed it the whole time. The development of the story was awesome! Also you can enjoy Chinese history as well 😉
This movie will coming to NYC the 2nd of March!

My other favorite was “Tell No One” because truth can be stranger than fiction sometimes! I loved that movie as well. Be sure to rent that one on DVD. 🙂
