Internationally acclaimed social coach, motivational speaker, author and ABCs of Attraction founder
Internationally acclaimed social coach, motivational speaker, author and ABCs of Attraction founder JT Tran has teamed up with Northeastern University students to help break the silence about the troubling effects of both external and internalized racial stereotypes among Asian Americans.
On Feb. 13, from 6 – 7:30 p.m., Tran will provide an exclusive keynote presentation: “Tran-scending Racial Stereotypes” in conjunction with Northeastern’s Asian American Heritage Week, Feb. 11-14 with a romantic Valentine’s Day twist.
“I want them to first understand the challenges Asian American men (and women) face out in the real world, both professionally and romantically,” explained Tran, who is passionate about using his own struggles with self-confidence and overcoming stereotypes to inspire his audience members. Tran is often recognized for his unique approach in encouraging students to rise above the obstacles they face as minorities and realize their true potential.”
“I will also present a holistic solution that will not only address specific skillsets, but also to tackle larger lifestyle issues,” Tran added.
Tran’s highly-anticipated, award-winning presentation will be held at the McCleod Suites in the campus’ Curry Student Center, and is hosted by the Vietnamese Student Association and the Asian American Center. While not open to the general public, event organizers are expecting a great turnout for Tran’s presentation and hope that it will make a profound impact on Northeastern’s student body overall.
