Kaling plunked down $1.695 million for a three-bedroom, four-bathroom, fixer-upper home in the Hollywood Hills area on May 10. Set high in the hills above Sunset Boulevard, the 1,599-square-foot property has enviable views of downtown LA, Catalina Island and the Pacific Ocean.

As real estate blog Trulia notes, the home still isn’t ready for its close up.

Kaling won’t be living in a construction zone while she updates this home – she owns another home just down the street in the Hollywood Hills that she paid $1,575,000 for in 2007.
