Kwok and Silvia were married on December 8, 2012 at the San Francisco Chinese Alliance Church. It was important for Kwok and Silvia to have a traditional Chinese wedding by starting with a Chinese Tea Ceremony, a western ceremony and then a Chinese Banquet. The portrait photos were taken at the Legion of Honor Museum where they were able to admire all of the beautiful architecture.
ASIANCE: How did the two of you meet?
Silvia: We first met at a church fellowship. As we got to know more about each other, we found out that we have very similar goals and aspirations.
ASIANCE: Tells us about his background.
Silvia: He works as a computer software tester. His hobbies include internet surfing and hiking.
ASIANCE: Tell us about the proposal!
Silvia: Well, it was in Yosemite during winter. There was this bridge near the Ahwahnee Hotel. After a snow storm, everything was covered in snow (very scenic). We were on our way to Mirror Lake. When we got to the middle of this bridge in late afternoon, he suggested we take a photo together.
That’s when he popped the question. 🙂
ASIANCE: Did you have a theme and tell us about the inspiration for the wedding?
Silvia: We didn’t really give too much thought into a wedding theme. We just wanted a simple wedding where we could celebrate our wedding day together with our families and friends.
ASIANCE: Who designed your dress?
Silvia: We got the dress at David’s Bridal. It has an elegant design that we both love. Once we tried it on, we both knew immediately that this is the one.
