Katy and Jon’s Wedding

Katy and Jon were married on a beautiful Friday afternoon. They are very active in their church, and had a large number of guests come to celebrate with them. They attended a Chinese church together (where they were married), and Katy was really excited about incorporating Chinese traditions into the wedding such as the tea ceremony. The unity candle ceremony during the ceremony is popular among Caucasian weddings. The beautiful rustic property for their reception created a beautiful atmosphere for their intimate reception.

Jon and Katy were so happy to make their marriage vows to each other, and from the vows they wrote to each other, you could tell they were devoting themselves completely to God and to each other, and the beauty of their marriage will extend far beyond their wedding day.

The University of Alberta is such an incredible place to shoot, the photographers challenge themselves at every wedding to do something new and different, and the U of A makes it easy. No matter how many times they go there, they always create unique images. The ones of Katy and Jon are easily some of our favorites.

It was free smoothie day at Orange Julius! Katy and Jon had coupons for the whole bridal party.

The reception was at Blue Meadows, a gorgeous venue available to police officers and their relatives.

Yeah, yeah….we all know it was that horseback ride that was part of your 14 th birthday party. An off white dress would keep them guessing
But you’d never go to Alberta to get married, in keeping with the storyline…….

Virginity reinstated. Can anyone advise Marisa where to find a white dress? Preferably insulated as she might be taking her vows in Alberta (Edmonton) in the winter….and we know how fond she is of hockey players.
