The Making of a Collection by Jason Wu with Swarovski
Jason Wu’s Resort 2013 collection has plenty of thoughtfully placed Swarovski sparkle.
Insect and flower motifs created with hundreds of Swarovski Elements, inspired by the work of artist Mike Libby, were integrated to accent the collection’s rich color palette of coral, bright blue, lime green and bright white.
“For the resort collection, I was inspired by two things: the idea of a man made nature mixed with the elegance of 60’s couture shapes. I used Swarovski Elements to create “mechanical” bugs that also bring to mind 60’s fine jewelry,” told www.fashionetc.com.
Colorful Swarovski crystal flowers added bright and flirty detail on black and white dresses, and were added to bags and shoes for extra pops of statement sparkle.
