Future Hall of Famer Manny Pacquiao will knock out Brandon Rios in six rounds, his trainer Hall of Famer Freddie Roach said as the Pacquiao camp nears the end of its training period with just a week left before the Filipino boxing icon faces Rios in Macau.
The Philippine Daily Inquirer is reporting that Roach is predicting that Pacquiao won’t need full 12 rounds to dispose Rios on November 24 and perhaps signal a return to ring dominance of the only man who won titles in eight weight division after two shocking defeats in 2012.
The Inquirer quoted Roach as saying that Pacquiao will outbox Rios easily and “knock him out inside six rounds.” Roach based his prediction after seeing tapes of the last ten fights of Rios and observing first-hand how Pacquiao trained hard for this match.
Roach also said that his prized ward is now 90 percent ready for the fight against Rios, his comeback fight after a shocking knockout loss to Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez and a controversial loss to American Timothy Bradley, Jr. The Filipino boxer who also happens to be congressman will fly to Macau on Monday, November 18 with his training team.
Good luck Manny! You can do it! Do it for your people! We’re going to be sooo nervous!
