Tiger Woods isn’t playing the Tournament of Champions in Hawaii this weekend

Tiger Woods isn’t playing the Tournament of Champions in Hawaii this weekend which means he had time to attend the funeral visitation of Stuart Scott’s in Raleigh, NC yesterday evening.

The Charlotte Observer has the story.

“Mourners represented his celebrity and his North Carolina roots alike, sometimes simultaneously.

Sitting in a back pew, three firefighters with the Gastonia Fire Department picked out the faces they knew: They saw Synthia Kearney, Scott’s sister and a battalion chief with their department – and then they spotted golfer Tiger Woods and former North Carolina basketball star Phil Ford.”

Woods tweeted out that the former ESPN employee was a hero shortly after he passed away and they played golf together on various occasions.
