Democratic Attorney General hopeful Kamala Harris is taking aim at her Republican

Democratic Attorney General hopeful Kamala Harris is taking aim at her Republican opponent, Steve Cooley, in a radio ad rolling out today — and taking advantage of a recent story I wrote detailing the gifts Cooley has accepted over the years he has been district attorney in Los Angeles.

The ad — which you can listen to below — doesn’t pull any punches: “The holidays only come once a year, but for District Attorney Steve Cooley, the gifts never stop,” it begins.
some longtime political watchers also think the gift issue could taint Cooley’s squeaky clean image. Harris, of course, has her own issues as well — including simmering anger among police over her opposition to the death penalty. Things should really heat up in the coming month as ads like the one below roll out and the election gets closer.
