NYC BeautyPress Spotlight Day
Amidst the endless bitter cold temperatures and struggle to beat the winter blues, BeautyPress’ Spotlight Day brought some cheer and excitement by introducing 12 fabulous exhibitors offering a refreshing look at some upcoming trends and great product launches in preparation for the much needed spring/summer season.
This is an event I always look forward to as it brings together an amazing group of beauty editors, bloggers, industry insiders and a perfect opportunity to network and meet new faces. And what better way to learn and exchange ideas than in the lovely open space at Midtown Loft & Terrace while enjoying coffee/espresso from Filicori Zecchini, the most ancient authentic Italian coffee roasters with a rich history dating back to 1919. Paired with decadent baked treats from celebrated French pasty chef Laurent Dupal – founder of Ceci Cela, I couldn’t help but sample more than I should have! Their beautifully displayed croissants, pains du chocolat and buttercream cakes convinced me to pencil in a visit to their storefront in Nolita for more.
A glance around the room revealed the great variety of brands and categories from organic to high tech, mens, lashes, hair and nails and fine fragrances; special mention to the on-site manicure station provided by Marilyn Monroe Spas, where I learned about their recent opening at the Hyatt Times Square boasting a vibrant, fun full-service spa inspired by the glam and vivacious Marilyn utilizing organic and natural products.

Afterwards a blow out from Blow Dry Bar completed my pampering for the day. This great concept simplifies the salon experience by specializing and expanding your options by offering 7 styles from their Blow Hair Menu.

Other noteworthy, unique and fun new discoveries I am excited to try out include Stylinity, a new fashion omnichannel that invites participants to have a mini photo shoot wearing or recommending products which are then shared on social media for feedback. It offers all sorts of options like creating a personal lookbook and wish lists.

Highlights of some other exciting brands I am looking forward to trying include:
Dermorganic – a line of hair and skincare products you can feel good about using since they are free of gluten, sulfate, preservatives, parabens, oils, and fragrance and also are vegan, organic and not tested on animals. Their lines are formulated with fine quality ingredients like Argan Oil/Extract and Vitamin E to replenish, protect and hydrate skin and hair.

The longer the better, and my search for eyelash boosters and serums continues. Lashem brand was developed to offer healthy and natural solutions for the everyday woman featuring practical beauty gadgets like a mini steamer to anti-aging creams and an array of eyelash boosters, peptide formulated mascaras, fiber lash extension serums, lash enhancing eyeliner to name just a few. I look forward to reviewing these soon.

In the world of fine fragrances I was most impressed by the luxury fragrances and pristine packaging from Spadaro, a fragrance line inspired by the founder Kim’s life journey of self discovery and adventure. Each scent recalls a different destination and is meant to be inspirational, truly unique and blend together harmoniously pleasing all our senses. www.spadaro.com
Another unique fragrance developed from the collaboration between renowned perfumer Clique and Bravo’s celebrity Chef Roble Ali is the first Fragrance Recipe to combine different menu courses; beginning with sparkling citrus cocktail notes and ending with his sought after French Toast Crunch signature dessert. Launching this spring, food and perfume connoisseurs eagerly await.
