Stella McCartney pulls ad with very thin model Ji Hye Park

Fashion designer Stella McCartney came under fire from fans this week after posting a picture on her Instagram page of model Ji Hye Park in a vest from her brand’s Summer 2015 collection, alongside the caption: ‘Worn well!! X Stella.’

Hundreds took to the page to express their disapproval, with one writing: ‘Disgusting. That is not worn well, it’s hanging over bones.’ Another added: ‘Appalling image. This young lady is clearly very ill and the body image being used is all that is wrong with the fashion world.’

McCartney has since apologized, calling the image “disgusting”.

The photo was taken backstage at the label’s Paris Fashion Week show on Monday.

The image has since been removed and replaced with a picture of model, Malaika Firth wearing the same shirt.

Stella McCartney is innocent! She is a very gifted Designer who was just posting an Instagram of a model who is more than likely also a friend. I agree that too skinny is not the most attractive but you need to understand the Fashion Business. Models need to be skinny so that the clothes appear in the very best form. We are used to looking at clothing on hangers and as such these models are paid to reproduce that image. That does not mean that they are making a statement about the desired weight of all women! Get over it! I think that it is far worse to be subjected to the disgusting show “Girls,” having to watch ugly girls who are either too skinny or completely out of shape performing explicit sexual acts. Now THAT is DISGUSTING and yet they always seem to be celebrated! Lena Dunham is a moron! 🙁
