Marisa Sung’s Rules of Etiquette for the Modern World Number 44

No talking at the talking picture show! Please keep your comments and questions to yourself when at the Movie Theater. I just went to see a great movie today and missed bits and pieces of it because 2 gossipy women kept talking throughout the movie and then decided to move up closer toward the end of the film and nearly tripped on their way to the row. They caused a big scene to the annoyance of the entire audience. You are not the star of the show! If you want that kind of attention, jump on the bus to Hollywood! Also, if you are suffering with a cold or other disease that causes you to constantly sneeze and/or cough=Stay Home!! šŸ™ We do not appreciate your foul body noises and your germs!! Thank you and I really hope this helps! šŸ™‚

I can’t believe “public” movie theatres still exist because of the reasons you outlined. Might be another business opportunity for “semi-private” theatres to filter out the riff raff?

I already do belong to “Private Theaters.” I belong to GenArt in Manhattan, The Joe Papp Theater in NYC, and The Ed Burns Theater in Pleasantville, NY.

The aforementioned theaters are great but you can’t always see a new release. More often than not, they have a screening before the movie hits nationwide public theaters.
