Damage from last month’s heavy rain in North Korea is seemingly having an impact in its summer military exercises.
According to South Korean government sources, an order has been given out to troops in the North to restore damage caused by the heavy rain fall.
From 120 up to 900 millimeters of rain struck most parts of North Korea in July, killing roughly 60 people and destroying over 10-thousand hectares of farmland, while flooding more than 26-thousand buildings.
North Korea is known for conducting large scale military exercise around this time of the year, but with damage caused by heavy rain Pyongyang is focusing on restoration efforts.
