The 10 Most Powerful Families

The following is a list of the most powerful families in the United States of America!

1. The Bush Family! 🙂
An American Political Dynasty to rival the Kennedys, the Bush Family has been such an important part of American life since the early 1950’s! It has produced a Senator, two Governors, and most notably two Presidents! George W. Bush bought a share of the Texas Rangers Baseball Team, and has made a major mark in the fashion world via Lauren Bush. Most recently, George P. Bush, son of former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, recently launched his own political career in Texas = look out for him! 🙂

2. The Kerry Family
The craggy Massachusetts Senator gets to fill Hill’s shoes for the next four years as Secretary of State. Kerry is a descendant of John Murray Forbes, a railroad magnate and merchant. Kerry’s second marriage to Theresa Heinz, linked the Brahmin Forbes clan to the Pittsburgh Ketchup Dynasty.

3. The Murdoch Family! 🙂
Three of Rupert’s six children, Elizabeth, Lachlan, and James have been groomed for succession. Elizabeth’s husband, PR Guru Matthew Freud is the great grandson of Sigmund Freud! For the next generation, Grace Murdoch’s godfather is Tony Blair!

4. The Emanuel Family
The Emanuels are perhaps the ultimate American Power Siblings. Ezekial is a prominent Health Care Policy expert and one of the Intellectual Fathers of Obamacare. Ari, is the Hollywood superagent of both Martin Scorcese and Oprah Winfrey.

5. The Kennedy Family
JFK walked his country back from the nuclear brink but couldn’t save himself. RFK busted gangsters and fought segregationists until he was assassinated and Ted Kennedy carried the torch until his death in 2009.

6. The McCain Family! 🙂
The son and grandson of U.S. Four Star Navy Admirals, John McCain has long been and continues to be one of the Senate’s most respected voices on military and foreign affairs! His daughter with Cindy McCain, Meghan has carved out her own niche as a very well respected Republican Blogger! Son Jack, became the fourth generation of his family to graduate from the U.S. Naval Academy in 2009! Congratulations to Jack! 🙂

7. The Powell Family! 🙂
Retired 4 Star U.S. Army General, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, National Security Advisor and Secretary of State, Colin Powell is perhaps our most distinguished living Statesman! He has made a small fortune by giving speeches, writing, and advising Silicon Valley Venture Capital Firms! His son Michael is former Boardmember of Cisco and is currently a media lobbyist! 🙂

8. The Pritzker Family
The Pritzker Empire went National in the late 1950’s when A.N.’s son Jay bought the Hyatt House Hotel near the Los Angeles Airport. With the help of his brothers Donald and Robert, he created a National Hotel Chain.

9. The Jordan Family
The grandson of a Georgia share cropper, Vernon E. Jordan Jr. started his career as a field operative for the NAACP during the Civil Rights Era. He later ran The United Negro College Fund and became a powerful lawyer, a lobbyist, and Democratic Senior Statesman.

10. The Barzun Family
The Barzun clan unites several strands of American power, culture and philanthropy, not to mention booze (Jack Daniels and Southern Comfort via Kentucky). Matthew Winthrop Barzun made his fortune as a CNET Networks Executive. He was U.S. Ambassador to Sweden from 2009 to 2011 and then served as President Obama’s 2012 National Finance Chair. He is now the presumptive Ambassador to the United Kingdom.

So sorry but that question is both inappropriate and rude. As an Internet Blogger, I cannot reveal the identity of my family. You should know that. There are so many posers, social climbers, and truly dangerous individuals out there that I choose to enjoy my privacy. Believe me, if I were OK with having everything out there, I would be a talking head at Fox News, NBC or CNN. My worst nightmare is to have a million people approaching me with cameras and following me around! I don’t even like it for people to take my photos at Galas, Celebrations and Charity Events despite the fact that I used to model as a child and again as a teenager! I was comfortable with it then because the images were owned and not illegally distributed as opposed to today. I absolutely love the anonymity that I am so fortunate to experience in such a highly voyeuristic world! 🙂
