The Race for President-It IS a Beauty Contest??
I just read a very interesting article that cited that the upcoming Presidential Candidates are competing mainly on their looks. Really? If that is the case then how did Michelle Obama ever become First Lady?? Or how then is Hillary Clinton running for President?? Her looks leave a lot to be desiered and she doesn’t dress well at all. They mocked Chris Christie for going under the knife in order to appear slimmer but the truth of the matter is the only very good looking truly Presidential Candidate was Mitt Romney and he lost more than once! He also has a wife who is very attractive and would have made an excellent First Lady. She is neat, pretty, educated, well-spoken and well-dressed. I beg to differ from the article that states that Candidates are dismissed based on their appearance. Dan Quayle was great looking despite having had an ugly and old looking wife=did that hurt him? No, it didn’t. Also, Mike Huckabee, John and Cindy McCain, and Pat Ryan and wife are all good looking and extremely photogenic and yet they all lost so how do you explain your theory?? We have a current First Lady who is advocating “Healthy Eating” while she struts around with a body frame that is hardly desirable. She is overly muscular, stocky and doesn’t have the tall, trim physique that is considered to be desirable=to say that she is average looking is being nice! I wouldn’t focus on her looks and clothes so much as they should be hidden if what you say is true. Given the aformentioned points, Chris Christie’s weight is the least of his problems, believe me! 🙂
The Candidate

In defense of Chris Christie, at least he can lose weight. Hillary Clinton can lose weight too but she will still look the same.
Benjamin Frankin Upon being told by Lady Astor, “If you were my husband, I’d put poison in your tea.”: … And tomorrow morning I’ll be sober, but you’ll still be ugly. … Benjamin Franklin.
The Candidate
Do you dare to speculate what percentage of eligible voters cast their vote based on looks? I’m thinking 51%.
Most people vote based on looks. Also, I think that most people in this Country cast their vote based on the brainwashing that they receive from every single liberal channel on the tube! It is clearly a Liberal Monopoly with the only non-liberal channel being Fox News. Taking into account that the “Minority” is really the majority, they look for themselves in the Candidates. That is why CNBC is so popular. The White population is actually the real Minority now. The aforementioned “labeling” is archaic as well. Why do we call Blacks, Hispanics and Asians the “Minority” when in fact they are the Majority. We never call the White Race a Minority but they are truly the Minority now.
I think well over 51% vote based on looks but not for good looks, they are looking for someone who actually mirrors themselves but is a step above. A candidate that represents the ideal of themselves=Barack Obama. As great looking and Presidential as Mitt Romney is the “minorities” cannot relate to him at all as he is in the top 1% of the population! There is a major disconnect between Mitt and the voting public. That is a problem because the “minorities” are the voting majority! Also, the public loves a candidate who managed to overcome all the obstacles in his/her life. That story always wins as they become inspired to defy their own odds! I am anxiously awaiting a female candidate who is disabled, deaf/hard of hearing or blind/partially blind. We need to show that disabled individuals are just as effective and intelligent if not more so than all of the rest! 🙂
