The White Winter Wonderland Party Dessert Bar

Grandma’s Cookie Bars will be featured at the dessert bar. These bars are easy to make, cost efficient and even easier to serve. No hassle, no mess, no utensils! I am featuring 3 types of “Grandma’s Cookie Bars” at my White Winter Wonderland Soiree. Seven Layer Bars, Maple Walnut Blondies and Mallow Nut Fudgies! Instructions for diabetics should contain sugar free chocolate, butterscotch and vanilla chocolate morsels or buy sugar free bars of the chocolate and chop them up into chunks. Sugar substitutions should contain lite organic honey and sugar free maple syrup as well as other sugar free products. 🙂

Seven Layer Bars
Ingredients:
1 1/4 cups graham cracker crumbs
3 tablespoons natural sugar substitute or lite organic honey

Add syrup to butter; blend with electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add baking powder, salt, eggs, syrup, and vanilla; beat mixture well.
Gradually add flour, beating at low speed after each addition. Stir in morsels and walnuts. Spread batter evenly into baking dish. Bake 35–40 minutes or until golden and center is set.

Mallow Nut Fudgies
Ingredients:
4 tablespoons unsalted margarine
1 (12-oz) bag semisweet chocolate morsels (sugar free)
2 cups white chocolate & peppermint pretzel crisps, coarsely crushed (sugar free for diabetics = buy the items separately and make your own peppermint pretzel crisps or simply omit that ingredient)
1 cup shelled pistachios, coarsely chopped
2 cups mini marshmallows (plain or holiday)
2 sheets wax paper

Steps:
Preheat medium saucepan on medium-high 2–3 minutes. Place butter in pan; cook and stir until melted. Reduce heat to low; stir in chocolate morsels until melted. Remove pan from heat; let stand 5 minutes to cool. Meanwhile, crush pretzels and pistachios.
Combine chocolate, marshmallows, pretzels, and pistachios until blended.
Shape dough into 2 (9- x 2-inch) rolls, using wax paper to form rolls. Wrap rolls in wax paper and chill 1 hour or until firm.
Cut into 1/2-inch thick slices, using serrated knife. Keep chilled until ready to serve.
Yield = 36 Bars

Arrange the bars on pretty plates with silver or gold chargers. If you own a 3 tier dessert stand, even better! Place pretty frosty white doilies on each tier and/or plate.
