At its 8th Annual Cultural Exchange Festival, the New York Chinese Opera

At its 8th Annual Cultural Exchange Festival, the New York Chinese Opera Society presented the famous 3-hour long opera “The Orphan of Zhao.” Many of the performers are young Chinese who are in the U.S. studying in universities – and not necessarily in majors related to Chinese opera, notes SinoVision reporter Lani Nelson. The festival aims to broaden the reach of the Beijing opera to mainstream audiences in New York and other international cities.
