In her quest to become the undisputed World Champion at 122lbs Ana

In her quest to become the undisputed World Champion at 122lbs Ana “The Hurricane” Julaton who is the current IBA and WBO 122lbs World Champion will be challenging Lisa “Bad News” Brown for the WBA (World Boxing Association) 122lb Championship on March 27th in Casino Rama located in Ontario Canada.

This will be Ana Julaton’s third consecutive World Championship fight and is a battle for the Filipino Nation, as no Filipina American has ever been crowned the WBA World Champion.

But this is Julaton’s toughest fight yet as Lisa Brown has been undefeated at 122lbs in her last 4 championship fights over the past 3 years. Brown’s excellent record of 16wins, 5Ko’s, 3 draws and only 3 losses in 23 fights vs Julaton’s 6wins 1 loss 1 draw in only 8 fights, should make a fascinating fight. The venue will be in Lisa Brown’s hometown (literally, as Lisa Brown resides in Brampton Ontario Canada) only minutes away from the Casino.

Lisa Brown has only lost 3 times in her 10 year career at 122lbs. She has competed against 3 of the best competitors the sport has ever witnessed, current Multi Divisional World Champ Melissa Hernandez, current WBC International Featherweight Champ Jeanine Garside and retired WBC World Champion Sharon Anyos (arguably Australia’s best female fighter ever). Lisa’s resume is impeccable and in 2009 there were talks of a Lisa Brown vs Kelsey Jeffries fight to solidify the best 122lb fighter in the World.

Ana Julaton helped derail that plan as she scored a majority decision upset over Jeffries last September as the Main Event at the HP Pavillion in San Jose, CA to become the newly crowned IBA 122lb Champ. Julaton then followed this victory by becoming the First Filipina to win the WBO World Championship last December which vaulted her to become voted as ABS-CBN Top Ten Newsmaker of 2009, with other notables such as recording artist Charice Pempengco, Arnel Pineda of Journey and P4P great Manny Pacquiao. Julaton begins her quest full steam ahead in 2010 as she continues to follow in the footsteps of her boxing hero to become the Best P4P female boxer in the World.

The Casino Rama is where “Marvelous” Marvin Sonsona recently scored a victory over Carita Lopez in 2009 to become the youngest Filipino ever to win the WBO World Title. Tickets for Rumble at Rama XI are $125, $75, $50 and $25 and are available in-person at the Casino Rama Box Office, and at all TicketMaster locations
