Kollaboration Celebrates 8 Years of “Empowerment Through Entertainment”
The 8th Annual Kollaboration talent show will take place Saturday, February 23, 2008 at The Orpheum Theatre in downtown Los Angeles. The theme for this year's talent show is entitled “A Yellow Carpet Event”, launching the events debut as an all-inclusive Asian Pacific Islanders (API) show. Hosted by Comedian PK, the show will give up-and-coming API artists an opportunity to showcase their talents in front of over 2000 audience members.
This year's show is already sold out and will be the biggest Kollaboration event ever. On October 21, 2007 , nearly 100 talented acts auditioned for this year's Kollaboration show. Judges had a difficult time narrowing down the field, but in the end 11 talented acts were chosen to perform and compete in the show. Finalists include dance crews, vocalists, rap artists and bands that will compete for cash prizes. The acts will be voted on by a cast of celebrity judges to include David Bernal (Elsewhere/ You Got Served), Director Michael Kang (West 32nd Street), James Kyson Lee (NBC's Heroes ), Producer Ken Mok (America's Next Top Model/Pussy Cat Dolls), Erin Pak (CEO of Korean Health Education Information & Research), and Producer Janet Yang (The Joy Luck Club). Guest performances to include Roscoe Umali (Hip Hop Artist), Comedian Edwin San Juan (BET's Comic View/Galavision's Que Locos), and Comedian Yoshi.
