She has also recently been awarded the ASCAP Foundation 2007 Young Jazz Composers Award for the title track of her third recording, “Every Road I Walked.” Ms. Kelly frequently tours in the Boston, New York City, and Washington, D.C. areas and has performed in such notable venues as Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Birdland, Symphony Hall (with the Boston Pops under Keith Lockhart), and many others, and as far away as Trumso, Norway.

As an Asian-American female instrumentalist in a musical calling where Asians (and females) are a decided minority, Ms. Kelly has demonstrated and continues to demonstrate a high level of commitment to promoting and supporting Asian and Asian-American communities.

With her immense gifts, unlimited potential, and strong connection to her Asian roots, Ms. Kelly is uniquely poised to influence not only the future of jazz but also the way Asian-Americans are perceived throughout the nation and the world.
