Asian American Population is getting bigger and Better!
According to the latest US census poll, the estimated number of U.S. residents in July 2006 who said they were Asian alone or Asian in combination with one or more other races was 14.9 million, which is 5% of the total US population. The percentage growth of the Asian population (either alone or in combination with one or more other races) between 2005 and 2006, was the highest of any race group during that time period. The Asian American population is expected to grow 213% between 2000 and 2050.
The projected number of U.S. residents in 2050 who will identify themselves as single-race Asians will be 33.4 million or 8% of the total population by that year.
Also, growth indicates that Asian-American spending power will reach $528 billion by 2009, an increase of nearly 347% since 1990. That's a serious demographic for you!
