Documenting Hip-Hop

The global phenomenon of B-boying has struck the popular imaginations around the world. Hip-hop has impacted international youth culture on a historical scale, and the success of Benson Lee’s film “Planet B-Boy” poses as a global pop cultural reflection and response. The new documentary by director Marc Hyun Kim “B-Breakers” explores Korean Hip-Hop culture through the lives of young B-breakers competing within the international arena and will be the film’s New York premier. A discussion follows the screening with Benson Lee, director of Planet B-Boy, and the filmmakers of B-Breakers via Web link from Korea. Selected clips from film “Planet B-Boy” will also be screened.
