Lesbian romantic comedy – I Can’t Think Straight

“I Can't Think Straight” is a contemporary, fresh and charming look at the budding romantic relationship between Tala, a London-based Jordanian of Palestinian origin and Leyla, a young British Indian woman. But the film dares to be more than just romantic comedy, it finds humor in the family backgrounds of both women and it finds poignant drama as the women resist their temptations out fear. The result is a sexy, humorous, uplifting and optimistic take on the obstacles of falling in love and that the best results come from being true to your self. The film was written, directed, financed and produced entirely by women, and the struggle to get the film made was almost worthy of a movie itself. The director, Shamim Sarif, of the film also wrote the novel that it was based on. It will be released within three weeks of another film with the same Director, Actors, and Producers, a very different period piece called The World Unseen. Of course we'll have interviews with both women! Watch the trailer below. Who would've thought movies like these would be made involving Asian households.
