A woman village-head in Uttar Pradesh sought a local court’s intervention to get a criminal case registered against Amitabh Bachchan in Barabanki district, where the megastar has bought land to build a women’s college.

Raj Kumari had accused Bachchan of “playing fraud” on the people of the village by not keeping his word of building a women’s college.

After hearing the case the court said the proof was inadequate and the case could not be filed against Bachchan and seven others.

Raj Kumari is not giving up though. She’s moved to file a petition and also charged that the actor had “cheated” people by announcing to set up Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Mahavidyala Degree College in the village in 2008.
