Vera Wang not showing in tents this year

Acclaimed designer Vera Wang is taking a break from showing at the Bryant Part tents for the Fall 2009 NYC Fashion shows February 13 – 20, 2009. Tommy Hilfiger has returned to the tents and has taken the 10 a.m. slot on Feb. 19 that belonged to Vera Wang. She decided this week to withdraw from the tents, seeking to convey a more intimate mood in a smaller show that is “more appropriate for these times,” she said. Shows at the tents cost designers $300,000-$400,000 per season. Wang is moving the show to her new Mercer Street store.
