The Mikado Project is a musical comedy feature film based on the play written by Ken Narasaki and Doris Baizley and adapted for film by Chil Kong. The Mikado Project has officially been selected and will premiere in New York City at the Asian American International Film Festival organized by Asian CineVision. Director Chil Kong, Writer/Actress Erin Quill, and Actor Raymond Lee will follow the screening with a Q&A session.

Life imitates art imitates life. Featuring hip-hop music and dance numbers choreographed by members of dance troupes Kaba Modern and Jabbawockeez, The Mikado Project is a modern reconstruction of The Mikado, a beloved comedy operetta by legendary collaborators Gilbert and Sullivan, that challenges the concept of the caricaturized Asians and captures the struggles that Asian Americans face today.
