Project by Project of Southern California (PbP So Cal) will host the 8th annual tasting benefit, Plate by Plate So Cal, on Saturday, August 14th, 2010 from 7:00pm to 10:00pm with a special VIP reception beginning at 6pm. Once again, the transformed, contemporary elegance of the California Science Center’s Wallis Annenberg Building in downtown Los Angeles will serve as the backdrop for this anticipated event. Attendees at Plate by Plate So Cal will have the opportunity to enjoy tantalizing samples from close to 30 savory and sweet food tasting stations from local Los Angeles restaurants and master chefs paired with over 20 premium brand alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. While relishing an evening of fine cuisine and live entertainment, attendees can immerse their philanthropic spirit by generously bidding on an array of premier items displayed at the silent auction.

More than a mere delectable night of exquisite food and drinks, Plate by Plate So Cal is a 100% volunteer-based event that has continually drawn the highly regarded attention and participation of a wide network of community members. Diverse talent from non-profit, private and public sectors, restaurant and beverage industries, celebrities, and media come together for one special evening to support a meaningful cause.

All net proceeds raised from event ticket sales and the silent auction from 8th annual Plate by Plate So Cal, will benefit the Health Justice Network (HJN), as well as the 50+ independent and collaborative health organizations comprising this expanding network. HJN is focused on supporting the communities of Los Angeles and Orange Counties with education, knowledge and resources around Asian Pacific Islander (API) health issues. Scott Chan, HJN’s Community Advocate, comments on anticipation for the 8th annual Plate by Plate So Cal event, “Not only will it be an opportunity to raise much-needed funding for the nonprofit health organizations within our network, but at the same time, it will also raise awareness of the spectrum of health disparities and health needs amongst API community members, to a broader audience. We are all very excited and are highly anticipating Plate by Plate.”
