Rujuta Vaidya to choreograph Slumdog performance at Oscars

Rujuta Vaidya is choreographing Slumdog Millionaire’s performance at the Oscars tonight.

It’s widely speculated that their performance will open the Oscars’ ceremony. Rujuta Vaidya exploded onto the scene with her memorable dance choreography for the Bollywood Awards. Her unique fusion of Bollywood and western style is exhilarating and inspiring to watch. Ms. Vaidya has been trained by renowned Bollywood choreographer Saroj Khan, and is the only choreographer/teacher, outside of India, who is her disciple. Most recently Ms. Vaidya is choreographing a Bollywood inspired number for Britney Spears’ "Circus" tour. She has choreographed the King of Bhangra, Sukhbir’s nationwide tour. Ms. Vaidya has collaborated with well-known artists such as The Cheetah Girls, Carol Kane,Stereo Nation, and RDB. Her credits include: Cosmopolitan(dir.Nisha Ganatra/PBS), the Guru, India Pakistan Peace Tour 2004, among many others.
