On September 25 at the Omni Hotel, representatives of the Asian Pacific Islander (API) Small Business Program and several Asian-American chambers of commerce will provide business owners a free platform to discuss their legal questions or problems. The advice will come as part of the API Small Business Program’s 11tth annual Asian Small Business Expo, and this year’s theme is “Legal Issues in Business: What You Should Know.”
“I think this expo is most beneficial for our community because many Filipino businesses are mom and pop shops,” said Johnny Chua, president of the Filipino American Chamber of Commerce of San Gabriel Valley, and owner of Tempo Printing in Walnut. “This expo will allow them to answer their questions.”
Chua said that the expo is timely because of the economic downturn, which has left so many people unemployed, with many turning to entrepreneurship.
“These legal issues are important for them to understand,” said Chua. “This is something that we can do to make the unemployment line a little smaller.”
The 11th Annual Asian Small Business Expo “Legal Issues in Business: What You Should Know” will be held on Saturday, September 25 at the Omni Hotel 251 South Olive St. Los Angeles. The expo will be held from 9am to 3pm. Admission is free. For more information contact (213) 473-1605 or e-mail smallbiz@apisbp.org.
