Tiger Woods is no longer golf’s No. 1 player. Instead, Lee Westwood is. For a moment, it seemed Phil Mickelson Mickelson would land the top spot but he didn’t finish high enough in this week’s tournament to take the top spot.
Tiger Woods has held the No. 1 position since the week before the 2005 U.S. Open. At that U.S. Open, he was runner-up. One month later, Woods won the British Open and his ranking has rarely been threatened since, until now, the so-called post-scandal era.
Hey – let’s hope he doesn’t go down any further. Then there is no where to go but up. America loves the underdog!
