Laura Ling’s childhood friend speaks out

Here’s a great article with one of Laura Ling’s childhood friends, Cheryll Marsh. So sad! You can see a side of Laura we don’t see.

"She was just fun to be around," Marsh said. "She’s a beautiful person inside and out."

Marsh recalled how Laura followed her big sister Lisa’s footsteps into journalism. The sisters both worked for their high school paper, the ROAR. And both worked for Channel One News, a program for teens broadcast to schools across the United States.

Lisa went to the University of Southern California. Laura attended the University of California-Los Angeles. Lisa went on to become a co-host of "The View.” Laura worked for MTV. Both became serious journalists and documentarians.
