“Slumdog Millionaire” star Irrfan Khan is in talks to play a new

“Slumdog Millionaire” star Irrfan Khan is in talks to play a new villain named Van Atter in Columbia’s “Spider-Man” reboot and director Marc Webb has cast Campbell Scott (“Damages”) and Julianne Nicholson (“Law & Order: Criminal Intent”) as Peter Parker’s parents, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Additionally, Annie Parisse (AMC’s “Rubicon”) is in negotiations to play Khan’s wife.

Parker’s parents never appeared in Sam Raimi’s original “Spider-Man” trilogy, and were only rarely seen in the various Marvel comic book series following the adventures of the teenage web-slinger.

Khan joins Rhys Ifans as the movie’s villains, as the latter actor will play Dr. Curt Connors, aka The Lizard.
