The Asian girls behind 72 Changes
For Spring 2011, Seventy Two Changes takes its inspiration from the 20th century modern day wanderlust jetset girl, which closely mirrors the real life of its contributing designer, Taiwanese Mandopop star Jolin Tsai. She collaborated with L.A.M.B. cofounder Ken Erman’s Truth and Pride to launch their first collection in Fall 2009. An instant success, she delivers, with the help of Creative Director, Brenda Lin, what girls really want in their clothes- sexy silhouettes with a modern ease and sophistication. Reflecting the free spirit in all of us, the collection follows a jetset city girl who travels to three of the most invigorating locales around the world: Sao Paulo, the Amalfi Coast and St. Tropez.
The first grouping reflects the cool downtown monochromatic palette of New York in grey, white and black. Reflecting the versatility of living in the urban jungle a highlight is the three in one leather and linen trench coat that can change looks in an instant.
Sao Paolo is punctuated with pops of army green, silk butterfly wing prints, paired with sand amongst flowing easy silhouettes.
Tantalized by the stunning landscape of the Amalfi Coast the palette is navy, red, white and grey. Nautical details shine through on the loose and easy tie dye dresses and skirts and unstructured blazers.
The last grouping is St. Tropez, a playground for the rich and famous exuding with style. Sky blue lux jackets, soft yellow stripes incorporated into flowing ruffled dresses and nautical stripes and structured blazers.
