Two Killed As North, South Korea Exchange Artillery Fire
At least two people were killed and 24 others injured after North and South Korea exchanged artillery fire in the Yellow Sea off their west coast on Tuesday, local media reported.
South Korean officials were quoted as saying that the North fired some 200 artillery shells on Tuesday afternoon at a South Korean island located near the disputed western maritime border of the two countries.
Soon after the North’s artillery shells landed on the Yeonpyeong island, South Korea reportedly responded by returning artillery fire and placing its military on the highest non-wartime alert.
And the Korean War goes on . . . .
