By integrating technology and art, hip-hop artist Shin-B releases the world’s first interactive music video to her single “Get Up and Go.” QR codes are incorporated throughout the video, leading fans to Shin-B’s website for contest giveaways. “Get Up and Go” is the first single from Shin-B’s third studio album 3 Choices, available this summer. The video is currently in rotation on Myx TV, northern California’s biggest music network with 5+ million households nationwide.
Directed by Duno Tran for Dusome Productions, the video seamlessly meld QR codes with messages of technological advancement and society’s interaction with today’s media. “We wanted to create a video that was relevant for today’s time,” Shin-B explains the concept, “…so we dug deep outside of our box to bring you this.” The codes can be scanned with any smart phone scanner app, which will lead to Shin-B’s official website with instructions for major contests and prize giveaways. Prizes include smartphones, MAC computers and clothing by Feltics Streetwear. Contests and giveaways will continuously change, which encourages viewers to keep watching the video and scan the codes for their chance to win different prizes.
3 Choices is Shin-B’s third studio album, dropping this summer. The album boosts an impressive list of producers: Twitch, THX (Snoop Dogg, David Banner), Tony Catania (Scatman John). Shin-B is also releasing a Korean EP Black Swan overseas this year featuring K-Pop artists. Shin-B shared the stage with Rah-Digga, G-Dep, Rage Against the Machine, Jay Sean, The Beat Junkies, MC Mong and more at famed venues such as the Shrine Auditorium and The Knitting Factory. She was recently nominated for the 2011 Female Hip Hop Honors Award.
