Women and Aging
I just happened to read an interesting article on “Women and Aging”
As much as I agree that women shouldn’t place all of their value on looks, I disagree wholeheartedly that women who choose to do nothing about the aging process feel better about themselves. Many of the women who I admire are well into their 50’s and 60’s. Jacklyn Smith, Christie Brinkley, Jane Seymour, Connie Chung, etc.
You cannot tell me that women wouldn’t die to look as great as Jane Seymour does at 60. I get the feeling comfortable and finding yourself bit. The wisdom comes with age and not caring what people think anymore (although I don’t know if it is so great not to care at all what people think anymore.) Men throughout history have been VISUAL creatures who appreciate youth and beauty and that is why the cosmeceuticals industry is so successful. That’ll never change. I don’t enjoy looking at a wrinkled ass so I am sure the men don’t either. Plastic surgery is more popular than ever in our culture. Statistically speaking, more men are marrying women 10+ years younger than ever before. Women should be appreciated at every age but it is competitive out there and you have to look your best at all times.
I am not saying to go out and take drastic measures like plastic surgery but I want to be crystal clear in telling young women that it is the feminists who have lost their looks and sex appeal that make these claims. They are living under a rock and think that the world should change because they want it to. They weren’t complaining so much when it was easier to look good and they weren’t so invisible. That is the easy way out. Some of these “feminists” or proponents of the women’s empowerment movement like Jane Fonda will tell YOU to age gracefully and then run out and spend a fortune on a facelift. Thus, contradicting everything they supposedly are preaching in the first place. What else is new?? And so goes the history of hypocrisy.
Trying to force the media to brainwash society into thinking that not caring about how you dress, how your hair looks, looking old and tired and being out of shape and overweight are all sexy and attractive traits in a woman. It takes work and money to look good as you get older. I would love the world to treat me like I am 23 again and stop traffic on Madison Avenue but I cannot make that happen anymore so I do the best that I can with what I have now.
You should start to live a healthy life from the start by eating healthy, exercising and enjoying life! Staying out of the sun during peak hours and taking the necessary precautions is most important. Every woman wants to look her best for as long as she can. The sooner you start, the better off you are. Start a skin care regimen early, eat whole foods and exercise regularly. Taking care of yourself INSIDE and OUT at all times is important. You always have to be passionate about what life has to offer otherwise you are really not LIVING. As we all know, feeling good about yourself is key. That goes without saying at ANY AGE. And it goes without saying that Asian women stay thin and young looking the longest
–another reason why they are such a hit with the men!
